Colored and Printed Backing Boards

Take your neon sign to the next level by customizing your acrylic backing!

One of the most popular ways to customize your sign’s backing is with UV printing. This technique adds color or print to your sign’s backing to make it pop! Additionally, it serves as a cost-saving strategy for more intricate designs.

Typically, detailed designs require a larger backing area (larger sign size) to replicate details using shaped and bent neon tubing. UV printing allows some of the design elements to be transferred onto the backing, enabling a reduction in sign size and the amount of neon tubing required, ultimately leading to lower production costs for your neon.

We offer 4 types of customized backing:

Colored backing - You can choose a single-color or mix and match any number of colors for your backing. With UV Printing, we can match your exact color preferences by using the CMYK or Pantone color system.

Mirrored Backing - A mirrored backing adds an undeniable touch of elegance and sophistication to your neon! Our standard choices include gold or silver mirrored backings, but we're happy to explore other color options based on your preferences.

Pattern Prints - We can print any pattern or design on your backing to create the perfect neon piece that brings out the unique features of your logo or artwork.

Picture Prints – Transform and personalize your favorite pictures into unique neon art pieces! 
We can print your chosen picture and seamlessly combine it with LED neon tubing to create a dazzling fusion of art and neon.

Use of 3M Command Strips on UV Printed Backing

When displaying your neon, we advise against the use of 3M Command Strips with UV printed acrylic backing. Removing the strips any time after installation may cause the color or print to peel off the acrylic, which will potentially damage your neon. To prevent this, we suggest placing the 3M Command Strips on clear, non-colored areas.
