How To Hang Your Sign Using 3M Command Strips?

Before we dive into the installation steps using 3M Command Strips, it’s important to know the surfaces they stick to and those they don’t.

With the perfect spot picked out for your new neon, let’s move on to the installation steps:

Step 1:

Separate all the strips by tearing them apart and connect each two by pressing them against each other until they click.

Step 2:

For each pair, remove the liners from one side only and firmly stick each pair to the backing of your sign.

Step 3:

Remove the remaining liners from each pair and stick your sign to the wall by pressing firmly against each pair for 30 seconds.

You can carry out these additional steps for extra safety!

Step 4:

After step 3, carefully remove your sign from the wall by unclicking each pair from one another. This is best done in a peeling motion, starting from the bottom edge of your sign and peeling away from the wall and upwards.

Step 5:

Press firmly against each strip on the wall for 30 seconds and then wait 1 hour for the adhesive to bond to the wall.

Step 6:

Realign the strips and press your sign firmly against the wall until each pair of strips clicks together.

Now that your sign is hanging, light it up and enjoy its dazzling glow!

Use of 3M Command Strips on UV Printed Backing

Please be aware that we advise against the use of 3M Command Strips with UV printed acrylic backing. Removing the strips any time after installation may cause the color or print to peel off the acrylic, which will potentially damage your neon. To prevent this, we suggest placing the 3M Command Strips on clear, non-colored areas.
