Why is My Neon Sign Not Lighting Up?

Wondering why your neon isn't lighting up? Let's dive into this guide to troubleshoot the issue with your neon sign:

Step 1: Check Power Supply 

Confirm the power supply is working by looking for a green indicator light. You can test it across different power outlets. 

If the power supply does not work: send us photos of the power supply to hello@neoncityinc.com. Include photos of the power supply block (top and bottom showing label), cables and power plug. 

If the power supply works: go to step 2. 

Step 2: Check Dimmer

Disconnect and remove the dimmer from between the sign and the power supply. Now connect the cable from the sign directly to the power supply (without connecting the dimmer in between). 

If the neon sign lights up: You have a defective dimmer. Send us photos of the dimmer (top and bottom showing label) and its cables to hello@neoncityinc.com, and we’ll send you a brand new one. 

If the neon sign does not light up: go to step 3. 

Step 3: Check Remote and Dimmer Pairing

Confirm the tiny light on the remote lights up when you press any of the buttons (check the batteries). 

If the remote lights up, verify if it's paired with the dimmer by referring to our troubleshooting guide for remote and dimmer pairing here.

If the neon sign light ups: Great, problem solved! It means the neon sign was able to receive the TURN ON signal from the remote via the dimmer after they were paired. 

If the neon sign does not light up: Send us photos and a video of your sign to hello@neoncityinc.com so we can find the right solution for you. Please make sure the photos and video capture your exact sign setup with everything connected, including the front and back of the sign, dimmer, power supply, cables and power outlet.
